From the Director…
Welcome to Casa Atabex Aché!
As the Co-Director of Casa it has been an honor to be able to work in
a “House of Womyn’s Power”. A safe and sacred space for economically
challenged women to come experience and learn holistic self healing
practices that will help them make positive transformations in their
lives.
I have had the honor of working with womyn’s power for many years. As a
midwife I have spent over 20 years assisting strong and powerful womyn
through the most challenging experience of childbirth both at home and in
hospital settings. I learned that each womyn has an incredible core of
innate wisdom and inner strength. I was blessed to be able to witness
over and over again each womyn’s unique way of giving birth to a new
being. What an awesome experience childbirth is!
Now as Co-director of Casa Atabex Ache working with an incredible staff –
“my other half” Vanessa Tricoche, Tania Ramirez and Nilsa Dalmasi,
volunteers, consultants and board members– together we are able to help
“midwife” young and adult women of color back to their “innate power of
healing and transformation.”
We deal with addressing the internalized oppression that is created by a
socialization process that “keeps women in their place.” Casa’s focus is
to bring awareness to the deep roots of our own unconscious negative
behaviors and thought patterns that prevent us from moving forward in our
own personal life, from becoming self sufficient and in turn prevents us
from taking part in challenging and changing the external societal
barriers encountered.
As women, we are the caretakers of our families and communities. We are
constantly giving to others first and then have little or nothing to give
to ourselves. This results in women depleting themselves of vital life
force. This depletion helps pave the way to various illnesses,
depression, stress, anxiety disorders, and the list goes on and on… We
here in Casa provide the tools to end the endless cycle of
self-destruction and opens the door to self-transformation. We do not do
it for you; you learn how to do for yourself. Read through our programs
to see how we help facilitate this process.
A healthy woman means a healthy being, a healthy family, a healthy
community and a healthy planet. During these challenging times we are
experiencing globally we need Casa (and more Casas) more than ever before
in the history of our planet.
Come to Casa and let the magic of transformation begin! We look forward
to working with you in your healing process.
